Feeling great Bis
Securely back on the wagon, in fact it didn't really bother me last night so I'm pleased about that, can't speak for tonight though
My DD2 starts nursery today, so I've got half day to take her, I'm so excited!! All her little uniform is laid out ready awwwww....
Right, as I'm leaving work early I'd better make an effort to get there on time!
Speak to you all later :wave:DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -

Took me ages to find this - how can I subscribe so don't have to go fishing around to page 5?
Well I felt very groggy this morning after last night's tippling - I was really p'eed off with myself when I opened my eyes and didn't feel all lovely and perky (even though I had stopped and got myself a cup of tea!)
So nothing for me tonight!0 -

Just click on USER CP in the green band above this thread and it should be in your subscribed threads, if you can't see it, click on ALL SUBSCRIBED THREADS and it should come up (if there aren't any recent posts it sometimes disappears) Hope that helps:D
Well I had a successful weekend, managed to abstain on Friday - although I did crave:o and only drank one bottle plus one lager shandy on Saturday and then AFD again yesterday :T I am really pleased with myself!

Hi everyone, thanks so much for the messages and words of support. I'm really chuffed, as last night I didnt have anything to drink. I have to admit I didn't sleep very well, but I got up this morning feeling very proud.
I only brought a fiver to work with me (for my lunch), so I had no opportunity to stop for a bottle of wine on my way home. And I'm very determined to make tonight Day 2 of no alcohol. Funnily enough last night I didnt work either, so maybe the two are linked somehow. Am gonna get a couple of hours work done now and if I get to 10pm without a drink, I know I'll last the night and be one step further.
Thanks all. Hope everyone else is having a good day.0 -

good for you! sleeping takes some getting used to...it is very different..unfortunately, alcohol-induced sleep is so far beyond natural that it's a shock to your system to go without....you'll get used to it...and love the simplicity of it.For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -

What Bismarck says is spot on. At first I hated lying there not being able to sleep. My mind was racing with thoughts and emotions that were usually hidden in an alcohol haze, I just couldn't switch it off. I'd normally be in bed by 10 -10.30pm and out like a light as soon as my head hit the pillow. Stopped drinking and I'd be laying there at 1am still wide awake!
It does pass though, I can get to sleep much earlier now and I've learnt how to ignore my brains musings. Problem is that I'm not getting enough sleep now, not due to having a sleeping problem, but because there's stuff on the telly and as I'm not p1ssed, I stay awake to watch it!! :rotfl:
Have a good day everyone
