Wilkinsons had one in for £12.99 yesterday. Think it was a 3.5L.0

Hi,
I have a 3.5ltr slow cooker and am looking for a larger one. Can anyone recommend me a good value 6.5l one?
cheers

Best offers usually seem to be at Tesco, Asda, Argos or Amazon but you`ll need to check what offers are on to get the best price as they seem to vary from week to week.0

The Morphy Richards 6l SC is popularAs this has fallen from the front page of OS, I'll add it to the existing thread so that you can see the opinions of others.

I have recently bought the Tricity 6.5L from Tescos £24.97 it was £34.97 but had £10 off.
I'm really pleased with it,it's great for our family of 4!0 -
Having never had a slow cooker before mine was an impulse buy, it is tescos own and I think it was £14.99 now down to £10 I know as I just bought my daughter one for Xmas. It has three main functions, High, Low and Warm as well as an Off button. I can only say for the price it is excellent. I have cooked a beef bouginouin in it, and also a slow cooked Brisket of Beef, the item does not come with any cook book.. bad, the lid is not dish washer proof, who cares it hardly gets as dirty as a casserole does in the oven. The whole thing is modern and light to handle, and the crock pot does go in the dishwasher, but it is so easy to clean anyway in the sink.
I never now believe in paying money for "named" brands as recently purchased a "heathly" grill and sorry George Foreman, yours was too little for double the price and my tesco one does the job just as well.
I would highly recommend the tesco one, it is nice to look at, easy to use, it does the job and will more than cook enough for at least 4 people. Unless of course they are elephants and want the lions share.... we eat big in this house, so when I say it easily feeds 4 I mean it, with enough left over from the stew for me to liquidise into 3 soups for work for lunch.
Eco friendly and uses so much less than my electric oven would and the meat once cooked is to die for... and the left over of the brisket tonight will now go into my stir fry tomorrow.. sadly the slow cooker does not stir fry...Some Days are Diamonds Some Days are Stones,Sometimes the hard times won't leave meBSC 162:beer:Banktupt 22 Oct 2008 at 10am!0 -
I'm going to treat myself to a slow cooker today but don't knw which to buy. I did try and look for a thread but got a bit lost so please feel free to direct me somewhere else (I was sure there would be a thread on here somewhere!)
Is it better to go a bit more expensive?
Does anyone have any fears over fire, with the machine being left on all day with nobody around?0 -
They all do about the same job, so the most important thing you need to think about is size.
I have a 3.5 litre one that I use almost entirely for batch cooking, and I've sometimes wished I'd paid more for a 6.5 litre. But a friend of mine was given her 6.5 litre slow cooker by a friend of hers who bought a big one, thinking she'd use it, but didn't!import this0 -
if you have a dishwasher check that it states dw proof pot and lid
