i am in a similar situation, a job agency has offered me one days work, which i am going to do in the hope of more work being offered. However the system screws you in these situations and you are no better off, worse even with travel costs than you are without the part time work. The thing is, when you get a job and sign off you are paid in full, pretty much on a daily rate, until the day you work Yet when you work part time the entire weeks jsa is taken away as opposed to the amount per day, it makes no sense at all.

You can usually work for agencies on a self-employed basis and therefore can claim the expenses of getting to and from the client's site so you won't be worse off with the travel costs. You have to weigh up whether it worth doing or not.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
