Funny thing happened on the way to the motoring forum...

As us motorists are getting such a hammering - especially in the pocket area, wouldn't it be nice to have a thread that puts a smile on our faces.............?

Funny stories that happened at a garage - whether visiting or working there.

Nasty jobs that on reflection have an amusing twist or..........

Getting your own back for something.............

List is endless really - and the tales would be educational, as someones misfortune could be a warning to others etc.

Up for it? Go for it! :D

  • I'll start....

Picture this... (hope he doesn't read it)

First day back at work after Christmas and the New Year break. Everyone is fed up and wishes they were back at home with left over turkey.

Newly painted workshop floor, nice and clean and shiny, except for spilt diesel where a mechanic is rescuing a van thats got some dodgy fuel. Its on a ramp just outside the office areas.

Boss goes out of the office door into workshop - boots come into contact with the diesel - which is skiddy - Boss then does impersonation of a Russian dancer as legs go one at a time up in the air before he lands right on his backside.

Oh how they all laughed, tears running down there faces. It was some time before they got their breath back to get round to asking - "are you all right". Fortunately, said boss has a sense of humour - and a bruised b*m - which is not so fortunate.

Guess you had to be there....................... :D

    Lesson to be learnt? Probably.

  • No funny car stories??????

Nothing to rival Top Gear dog being sick in the back of the car in the 'Caravan' episode?..........................

Or are all the funny ones watching Match of the Day? I wouldn't - to see poor Eduardo struck down again.......... nasty.

  • its always funny when you are welding or heating up metal,a part falls on the floor, the apprentice is walking past shortly afterwards, you ask the eager apprentice to pick it up for you,at first he doesnt realise its hot as its so warm, then suddenly realises as his skin is burning what has happened. always good for a laugh.
it happened to me when i was an apprentice, not so funny when its done to you though! you see the funny side afterwards though.

This is totally unrelated, but made me think about this for some reason. When I was at school there was a 5p superglued to the floor in a certain spot, joke was to watch to see if anyonee tried (always unsuccessfully) to pick it up :rotfl: Wonder if it's still there.

Hilarious. Not quite as funny as throwing a glass of nitric acid at one's face, but very funny indeed nonetheless...
