Taking house off the market - fees?

Hi Everyone
Our new jobs may be falling through and we might not need to move - nothing confirmed yet ....
What sort of fees will I have to pay my EA if I take my house off the market? I have already paid for HIP
I have looked through my contract and from what I make of it, I am only liable for fees if I withdraw from the market during negotiations
Have I missunderstood the contract? Is this normall? I thought I would have had to pay the EA some sort of marketing fees?
Any advice would be much appreciated

No, I don't think you will have to pay anything but check your contract carefully. I'm sure someone more knowledgable than me will come along soon.0

I thought it was no sale, no fee, but it does depend what you agreed to. They might think it is reasonable to ask you to cover their advertising costs.DFW #414, MoneySaver, Income Booster

when you contract with an EA, they're usually very specific about how long the contract is for - usually counted in weeks. If you're out of the timescale stipulated, no fees should be payable.IT Field Service Engineer, 20 years with screwdriver and hammer0

I am still within the contract (and for some while yet!)
It says I can give 14 days written notice to take it off the market - but doesnt mention anthing about fees
I suppose I am just going to have to ask them - but dont want them to get the wrong end of the stick as our situation isnt confirmed yet0 -
magic dragon you are right. You will not have to pay anything if you decide to take your house off the market. :T0

In my experience (limited), a fee is payable to an agent if they find you "a proceedable buyer" and you pull out.
As you don't have anybody who is in the process of buying it at the moment, then it is highly likely that there will be no fee due.
However, every contract has the likelihood to have been tweaked, so it's best that you read through it.
I am now going to be very nosey and ask: how come both of you seemed to have new jobs and put your house on the market and yet now you might not have new jobs ... how does that work out then?0 -
Hopefully we wont have to pay if we come off the market then! :j

Ah.
Thanks.
I'm really nosey. I can't help it.
Thanks for indulging me0 -
Lol
Its hard on a forum like this not to go into your life story when asking for advice - I try to just get straight to the point .......
Now, I am NOT going to rant about the Army messing us around (again)
Back on topic, my contract looks very simple. I just tought I would double check with someone more knowledgeable than myself that this is the norm - which it seems to be
Cheers0 -
Otherwise just ask double for it, not likely to find any buyers in the contract time-frame that way0
