Suing Harveys furniture

Hello,
I intend to sue Harveys Furniture because they have failed to fix the problem of my new suite being delivered in a damaged condition. I reported the problem straight after delivery - both sofas are ripped on the arms where the deliverymen scuffed them on the walls of my house. I requested replacements but they said no and then they sent an inspector around to assess the damage. The inspector said they would provide covers for the arms - this was back in October last year and I still have nothing. I have written to them and get letter back promising action but nothing has actually happened. I finally sent them a recorded letter telling them unless I get action within 28 days I would be commencing court action under the Sale of goods act. They have made more empty promises but actually done nothing. I have the paperwork for the county court but what i would like to know is...
do I claim for the full cost of both suites?
does anyone have any advice?
thanks

just a quick query but why did you not reject the delivery?Baby Milk Action is a non-profit organisation which aims to save lives and to end the avoidable suffering caused by inappropriate infant feeding.0

hi, we were not home at the delivery time - the mother-in-law was and she didn't realise it was damaged. We noticed it when we got home and informed Harveys immediately.1

You could claim for the full cost of the sofas, but this would be on the understanding that you would return the damaged ones (at their cost). You would state this in your complaint.
Alternatively, you could claim for the cost of repair (you would need to get an independent quote for this).
It really depends on whether you just want to return them, or to have them repaired? xGone ... or have I?0 -
look up harveys on the watchdog website and quote this in any correspondence with them - i found it works wonders. good luck with sorting out your problemDogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0

I would like them replaced so will go for the full amount. I will take a look at the watchdog website too - thanks for your help both of you.1
