Norwich Union Breakdown Cover

Hi.

Anyone know who Norwich Union use for their breakdown cover? I'm thinking RAC as they seem to slate the AA in their price comparison table

I have been following the thread for Car Breakdown Recovery and telephoned Norwich Union on 0800 096 4704 got a quote for the whole works, including Europeon Cover £105 I asked them to requote and gave code CQM1 and the price went down to £65.56 with a bonus of 14 months cover! They use RAC.

  • I've had this policy for over 2 weeks now and have still not received my policy docs! They've resent it once and still nowhere! :(

The missing policy docs seems to have happened to loads of people who applied for the breakdown through this site including me. I had read about the delay in the docs so one week after taking out policy I emailed them to say I had not received my docs. They then sent me a letter by return of post with my policy number but no policy etc. I emailed again and said I had received their letter but still no policy and they sent them out by return. Im not sure which postage service they use but it doesnt work. I think they are just trying to save on postage costs but you should get them.

NU breakdown was a seperate company to RAC, but they are in the process of integrating as NU has bought RAC. They have their own "NU Rescue" vans but these are few in number, I believe you are likely to get an RAC van if you breakdown more than 50 miles away from Norwich ;o)
  • I have been a member of NU Breakdown for 2 years now.

And i wont be renewing it again ....... last time i broke down it took over 4 hours to get home (40 miles)

The driver tried to take me 1 hour out the way becuase he didnt have £1 for a toll charge.

Then when we got to the toll i had to climb onto the back of the truck to get £1 out of my car.

Alls i got was a letter to say sorry.

    Ha
