selling royal doulton dinner service

I have inherited a royal doulton dinner service. I have no use for it, but as it is brand new i think it would be worth selling.
I have approached a couple of china matching services but thye aren't interested in the whole thing, just a couple of items.
There are others listed on ebay and I thought I would try it on there - but do I sell the items individially, i.e. 6 x saucers, 6 x cups, 6 x plates or as individual table settings i.e. 1 x cup, saucer, plate or as one whole lot?
Does anyone have any experience of selling china and could give me some guidance? Many thanks in advance.

Not sure but when I sold some of my denby last year I broke it down into 2 x plates, cups etc (and then sometimes did a 2nd chance) I found it sold best for people who wanted to replace / add to their sets.

thanks dawnybabes.
I have trawled around sites all morning and have a rough idea of what it might be worth. One compnay is going to get back to me with an offer and depending on how good it is and whether it is for all or part of the service the rest will go on ebay!
Appreciate you help xr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
Hi r.mac,
We are in the same situation as you. Where/how did you sell your Royal Doulton dinner service?
