Im hoping to have my wedding there, we're proberbly going to have a look around in the next week or so..

    Its rather posh ;)
Did some business entertaining there just before last Xmas...

    Bed and continental breakfast: £80

Bistro menu: slice of ham (cold), an egg, 9 (nine!) chips* @ £10.95

    Restaurant menu: 3-course Xmas dinner @ £31.95

    Pint of lager: £3.60

You'll probably (hopefully) get a bit of discount though.

    Enjoy your day. :)

I have been to 2 weddings here with good reports from all and to one fabulous wedding here
However the last one is very popular with the Yorkshire Society set, so will probably be priced to match.

    Hi

Ok, so my partner and I are looking to marry in 2010 (I know it's a long way off..) all my family are in Warrington/Manchester. His family are all in Durham. We live in Halifax, so looking for a venue in the yorkshire area.

Does anyone know of any good quality, inexpensive, venues in Huddersfield/Halifax or Leeds?

    Hi Liz,

I live in Halifax with OH and we are getting married in July.

We're having our reception at the Sports and Social club in Brighouse. Not sure how to do links, but it does have a website. They have a big function room which is £300 to hire for the whole day. It is quite a new building and the function room is really light an airy and looks over the playing fields.

They are not licensed to perform wedding ceremonies there, but we are getting married at the Halifax register office in the morning (which will be moved to somerset house by then, so v nice) and then the registrar is coming to the sports club in the afternoon to do a renewal of vows /blessing type ceremony in front of everyone.

A couple of friends of ours had their wedding elebration at the sports club a few years ago, which is how we found it. Everything went ery well for them, and for us it has all been ery smooth so far. the lady that runs the function room is called Julai Baldwin. Her phone no is on the website.

Also, food is v reasonable and the bar is cheap!

    Good luck finding somewhere.

    Ali xx
