Well I guess the next step could be trying to verify it by contacting the FSA, but since it appears to be an organisation that doesn't know it's rear end from it's elbow you might not get much joy. (I base that comment on personal experience as I knew someone who worked there on contract and he was appalled at the lack of organisation.)

Hi guys,

I noticed this thread so have done some double/treble/quadruple checking on this, and can confirm that Kaupthing is definitely covered up to £35,000 by the UK's FSCS scheme, meaning it has the same protection as all the big UK banks.

If this changes we will keep you updated
