Today I went to the bargain shops with a list of items I want for our redecorating. Buyology is brilliant! I wanted pastel pink or blue things for the kitchen, and for £2.97 I managed to get a pink floral double oven glove and a large pink floral fabric place mat, which I made into 2 tea cosies. (Mat was double fabric so unpicked it, cut out the shapes, stitched them together and sewed them onto 2 older cosies). Found big lined wicker baskets £5 each in Instore - exactly right size and £££s cheaper than Homebase etc Also bought a pale blue washing up bowl for £1.29.

Went to the recycling centre with all our plastic, cardboard, tetrapacks, wood, scrapmetal etc. Shame the local authority only collect cans, bottles and paper from the kerbside once a fortnight.

DS1's computer has died but he managed to combine the useful bits from his with our old one, so can last until he has saved up for the one he really wants. (proud!)

Bought fruit & veg at Aldi - shall break up with Mr T as he is just tooooo greedy!

Did Piggy click & an on-line survey
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.
  • Today I have/will:

    - dried clothes on airer
    - done piggy clicks and comps
    - completed surveys in inbox
    - just about to email AQA back with my completed application and test (fingers crossed!)
    - stayed in doing housework and online stuff so spent nothing (although getting takeaway later so not a NSD totally)
    - checked online banking
    - updated spending diary
    - updated snowball and made payments on two credit cards

  • Things done the last couple of days or so…. Hooray…
    • Joy of joys…the new Blueberry bush arrived…how wonderful. :p Planted it in a large pot. I think I will grow it in the pot for the next year or two and see how it does. Muffins made with fresh Blueberries by August – whoo hooo. :D
    • Lawn mower now all back together and working wonderfully well. The twirly bits are all going the right way round – yay…result. The back lawn has had its first mowing. I love my mower…and… <sob>… I think she loves me – hee hee.
    • Tended the veggie seedlings. They all look wonderfully healthy. Will put them in individual pots in about 2-3 weeks time or so. :)
    • Checked and updated the spreadsheets. No great problems overall but the grocery (food only) section is definitely at a new high – cost of living increases I guess. It’s running about £3.00 or 12% higher per week compared to the same time last year. :(

Not much one can do about it short of starving. We’re all Pawns and Cannon Fodder in the Great Globalisation Game…. Minions to the Vested Interests… Pseudo Slaves and Cash Cows to the Government Machine. Roll on death. :D
    :)The £2 Coin Savers Club = £346.00 (£300.00 transferred to Savings a/c)

  • Well i was looking for a thread called 'How many things can you do today that aren't DFW' but could find it:mad:

What a totally rubish day i've been having.

Checked online banking before going for petrol and swiched money into my shopping and petrol Electron account :j
Went for petrol opted to pay at kiosk and when i got there their chip and pin machine was down. The guy offered to type in my account details but informed me that the machine would not accept manual inputs from Electron cards. My only option was to leave the car and walk around looking for a cash machine or pay by CC. As i was on a clock i had to pay by CC:mad: . Cue one letter to petrol station head office looking for compensation.

Took OH for new bike tyres only to be told that it will cost £12.99 for lights, £32.98 for 2 new tyres and £13.99 for the labour.

Looked out all my Clubcard vouchers, had them in hand walking round tesco to make sure i saved every penny on offer :rotfl:
got to check out to realised the OH had lifted the car keys WITHOUT the key fob  meaning i had loads of stuff that i could have bought in Morrisons with my vouchers

Went to morrisons and bought as much as i could on BOGOF saving me over £12:T

Forgot to take chicken out the freezer so no dinner ready for tonight
will have chinese take away instead :p

Whats a girl to do after a rubbish day like that - i think i deserve a take away:confused:

Oh and MiL is coming to stay tomorrow as OH starts new night shift job tomorrow night so will be struggling with childcare for the next wee while.
