Debt Relief Order

Does anyone know if this has been/will be brought into effect yet?

Hi,

The debt relief order is due to come in to force in April 2009. Fine tuning is still to be done but it is believed to be for people who have less than £15000 of debts and assetts of less than £ 300. The cost to the applicant is to be around £100.

It is also under consultation to remove the courts from Bankruptcy and to remove the BR notice in the local paper.

oooh, this could be interesting to me... does anyone have a link for reference, or should I stop being lazy and google it???

Thanks DD, I did follow the links from the insolvency site, but I couldnt make head nor tail of all the reports etc..................... well I am a blonde!:D Thought it might be easier to ask :rotfl:..........trying to find info out for my in -laws are they are having a bit of trouble too, just thought it may of been an option for them too
