Its ridiculous isn't it! I think its the fact that you have to book so far in advance. Too much time to spend changing your mind, surfing Ebay, wandering round the various bridal shops!

At least when the day is over and I'm home from honeymoon I'll have plenty of ebaying to keep me busy

I dread to think how much time I have spent on the tiny details! It doesn't help that OH has been working away for 2 or 3 nights a week and I'm at a loose end :p

I'm one of those people who always sweats the small stuff anyway and it's beginning to really stress me. I'm going to have to tell myself enough is enough soon just to save my sanity
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p
  • I agree, go into the shops and try some on, its amazing how different they look on. I bought an ex hire dress and saves loads so there is that option if you dont want to spend a small fortune.
    Good luck
  • I have to agree with some of the other girls here, you may see piccies of dresses you like but when you see them in real life or try them on its completley different. make sure you look at plenty and try plenty on before hand if not you may regret it.

as for ordering dresses from ebay, plenty of brides and brides to be on weddingpath.co.uk have ordered dresses and veils from abroad and the uk and had no problem with them.

Well I've done it... I actually bought a dress!

I took my MOH and my sister (who is buying a blue dress and making herself a bridesmaid but thats a whole other thread lol) and tried on loads of dresses, found a gorgeous one that everyone loved but it was over £1300:eek: The bridal shop lady goes to my church though and offered me a substantial discount but it was still way over budget so we carried on looking.

In the last shop we went in (The one I vowed I wouldn't go into because of poor customer service last time too!) They had a huge rail of discounted dresses, found one I liked almost as much as the expensive one and to help me make my mind up the owner knocked another £30 off the price...:money:

I decided to go for it, it would be lovely to wear the really expensive dress with the cathedral length fully embroidered train but I know on the day I would of been thinking 'should of gone for the £200 dress' so that's what I did! This is the designers pic, the reast of the dress is really plain and understated which I really like too!

They're sending it off to be cleaned for me and I should be able to pick it up next week, can't wait! (My sister said it would be bad luck for me to sit and watch daytime tv in it before the wedding... but I think it would only if I spilt my cup of tea down myself...)
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

i tried this dress on in Pronuptia Norwich ( a bit far for you) and it was a big size, it looked beautiful and really does flatter. i kept thinking of getting it but have ended up with something else which i love as well. Good luck hope you make a brave decision.
