TSB and their "can we make an apointment to review your accounts with us? we believe we can save you money" phone calls.
Ive been to 4 so far, the best one was the first where they said if they can't save me money they would give me £50 the fact I paid nothing for any of my accounts and didnt have a credit card, already had an ISA they ended up giveing me £50. They stopped doing that for some reason.
Now its just a thing of trying to sell you the accounts where they give your free foreign exchange, mobile phone insurance etc for a small fortune a month. I now refuse the apointments its just a waste of time.
As for the duo cards, it seems an ok deal just a pain as everywhere I tried touse the amex card it wasnt accepted ohh and carying 2 cards round is not for me I got them to swap me back to the platinum MC.0 -
I went to one of these meetings a few weeks ago, the guy tried to sell me everything he could think of and i didn't want any of them.
We did however agree to change my graduate gold account to a regular account. this was over 3 weeks ago and i have heard nothing since.
Until this i had always thought Lloyds to be a good bank and never had any problems, however now i am seriously considering switching my current account to another bank.'What's poignancy grandad?'

Did you sign a downgrade form in the branch?0

I don't like the way lloyds have done this. You have to opt-out of having your card changed! They've given me 14 days to opt-out or else they're going to change my card, lucky I'm currently in the country.
I'll stay with my current card, and if they desperately want me off my mastercard, they 'll have to make me a far better offer than what they have.0 -
I have been a LTSB customer for many years but I would not go anywhere near having an account review with them ... not if you have access to resources like MSE and other similar websites. The only reason LTSB want your father there in person is so that they can sell to him. I attended one of these many years ago and it was a total waste of my time. Since then I have made it clear to them that they should take me off their sales prospect list for such meetings.
However, I love LTSB online banking and stick with them because of that.

Just write in to do it now and ask them to refund any fees since the meeting.0 -
I will thanks. luckily there have been no fees so don't have to worry about that.'What's poignancy grandad?'
