I need to raise a point, correct me if I am wrong BUT all the time you have a mortgage if you mess up it will effect the others credit rating as you have a financial connection, well it did when my DH mucked up for me.
When I said get rid of the car I meant to get one you own, u can get a lot of a car for <1k, that would be saving you a fair amount. Keep at it there is a way out, u just need to find it!Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!0 -

Im so scared

:( , people keep telling me to go bankrupt, but if I do I'll loose my job ( civil servant in the job centre) not the best job but i enjoy it, plus as i dont drink the only time i see people are my friends at work.
I also work in a jobcentre and I know a couple of people who have gone bankrupt and not lost their jobs. Have an informal chat with your manager to find out how it would affect you. I know it's not an ideal situation but it doesn't hurt to find out where you stand.0 -

Hiya,
Just wanted to say welcome-the moment when you add everything up for the first time is probably the worst bit, and you've got that out of the way
You'll get tons of good advice here, and I'm sure you'll find a solution that works for you xxx0 -

Hi wxmlad, she's so right you know! No matter how bad things seem just ask yourself what's the worst that can possibly happen. Once you face up to that things often seem better already. Whatever happens and however bad things are, worrying won't help you at all please try to bear that in mind and keep telling ourself over and over that you've made the first great move in getting on top of things. We're all in the same boat and though some of us have extra weight - but we DON'T intend sinking!;)

Just to say good morning! I really would ring CCCS to get some advice but also can you speak to your family? Its important that you're open & honest because it looks like the debt on the mortgage is in all your names (but secured loan not?) so would impact on them plus you need some support! This part is hard (the sorting!) but you're taking control of your moey rather than it controlling you! Can you sell furniture etc from the house to make extra dosh? Keep us posted & keep posting!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0
