building work qupte, could this be true?

hello,
I've been quoted (not estimate) £1400 for the following to help me along with my integral garage conversion;

labour only; lay £125 bricks, 25 blocks
Supply and labour celotex insulation 50mm, screed (about 4.5 by 2mtr)

knock through door way to lounge, lintel, door lining.

I'm told this is 1 man 3 day job, could this price be right???
Others have quoted between £250 (polish builder) to £400 just for the small wall..again labour only.. We're talking 2mtr by 1.2mtr wall between existing opening, no colums either side, the window will be width of garage door.

any info appreciated.

Make sure the work has building regs otherwise it could jepordise any future sale. The work would then have to be insured.
