Driving Licence
Hi
I have recently recieved a letter from the DVLA threatening to revoke my licence through no fault of my own !
I picked up three points last Feb (2007) for speeding, which I deserved.
In a moments lack of concentration I crept up to 37mph in a 30mph limit.
I duly sent off the fine and my licence for endorsement.
I only had an old paper one at the time, as I'd not moved house for years and so had never applied for the card version.
The licence was returned a month or so later with the points added.
In September 2007 I moved house.
I sent off my old licence with my new address and photo for the card.
When they eventually arrived a fair while later, they were put away with my other car related paperwork. (I never carry anything on me after being pick pocketed a few years back)
This week I recieved a letter from the DVLA, saying that a court has recently informed them that I handed in a licence for endorsement, that was not the latest version issued to me, and therefore my current licence hasn't been endorsed
I thought they were getting confused, as you can only have on licence at a time
However I looked at the new one closely for the first time, and realised they hadn't moved the 3 points from the old one to the new one:rolleyes:
This is clearly not my fault, but they are threatening to revoke my licence unless I send it back again !!
I am a bit !!!!!! off having threats made against me. I can't see how they can revoke my licence for their clerical error ?
I have done nothing wrong (other than getting the points in the first place, with which I have no arguement)
If they'd sent a letter apologising for their clerical error, and asking me nicely to return the licence, I probably would.
But to make threats, and expect the same result, I don't think so
I'm pretty sure they can't legally revoke my licence, so......
What would you do ?

Honest answer?
Send the licence in to get the points put on then forget about it.0 -
I had my wallet stolen in Rome a few months back, I paid my £26 for a replacement, and filled in the bit where it asked if I was on any medication, I'm on anti-depressants so I filled it in, four months later I get a letter saying my licence is revoked, I have never had any points, and the pills don't effect my driving, yet by being honest I've lost my licence, and your !!!!!!?There are 10 types of people in the world; those who understand binary and those who don't...0

Im sure Flutterby can answer better but if you get a letter from your doctor stating that the pills do not affect your driving you will get it back straight awayI MOJACAR0
