Compared to the serious stuff, it's only numbers....whenever I think about what we've not got, I think about what we have got and take so much for granted.....you know if someone said to you, here's all a lottery amount of money BUT this has to happen to of your loved ones....it puts it all in perspective, doesn't it.

I'm certainly no authority on CCJs but you definitely argue it was money well spent if it came to it at a hearing.

Too true I won't change why i did it for anything, my girls are our lives. I'm lucky one of my oldest friends is a solicitor and he has said that if it went to ccj we have a stong case.

  • Just wanted to send a hug! Get on the phone to to CCCS and ask them if they can help. It seems to be a regular trick of cos to have another bash at getting more. Have a look round the boards & look at some diaries & you'll soon realise youre not alone! Lots of us with you! Good luck with the reclaiming!

  • First of all, I wouldn't call Bankruptcy an easy route - you may just offend many people that could give you very helpful advice.

To be honest I found your comment offensive devils_spawn  - all she was saying was that the stress is getting too much to bear and bankrup' feels like an easier option than what she is going through now. How is this offensive? Hopefully the vast majority on here will see this and have a compassionate approach to someone in dire need of help.......

Hi Mrs C this is my first post and I just wanted to wish you well, I hope you manage to get passed this tough time. I am struggling also and really feel for you I felt overwhelmed about my debt until I came onto this site and read all the helpful tips etc in the forums. As a result I am in the process of claiming back my bank charges (on hold untill the court case is settled!) and am also trying to reclaim paid premiums from a mis-sold payment protection insurance on a loan. I would never have known about the possibility of this had I not read these forums, so hopefully the advice and support will help to reassure you that you are not alone. Good Luck:j
  • I can't believe you accidentally fell pregnany with TRIPLETS!!!!!

It's bad enough finding out your pregnant when it's unplanned without them finding 3 heartbeats at the scan...OMG

You seem to have the right attitude for getting rid of the debt so fingers crossed you get back on track and the creditors get their act together....(cue people telling me the creditors have done nowt wrong :) )

If i had to choose between the life of my child or debt i would remortgage to the hilt and live of toast and beans if need be. At least your not saying you sepent £18k on clothes....

Hope all goes well with the debt and your daughters recovery

Just a thought...have you approached any of the charities connected with your daughter's illness?

Because you say "remission" I'm wondering leukaemia/cancer (not being nosey or fishing for details) Macmillan and Marie Curie both employ social workers to ensure people get all the benefits and assistance they are entitled too. I excpect other charities do too.

Good luck, with what you've been through I'm certain you are an amazing person and will get through this too.

    Hello! Welcome to MSE!

Why have they suddenly made these demands? Have you been making your payments on time etc? They must have a reason for it (or at least think they have a reason for it) - I would call them back and enquire as to why, tell them that the payments have been agreed - you spoke to x,y,z on x,y,z date who said they would freeze interest - so why is there a problem? Try not to panic. Sometimes, well more often that not, there is probably a bit of miscommunication internally - this happened to me a few times and definately uncalled for!

    Good luck xx

i thought it would effect me too as im on a dmp and my interest has been stopped but it hasnt i just look at it as gettin my debt paid of that little bit quicker
  • Another great big thanks to everyone, it's nice having people to talk too without being judged. My daughter has a rare form of dnough but the one cancer (shes been in rimission for 14 months) so fingers crossed. Click sargent achildhood cancer charity gave us loads of support at the time and still do to be honest, they provided a nurse for when we got home which was a real help. Coping with a sick child is enough but the girls were only 15 months old at the time.

I'm a lot more positive today (my sister suprised me took me out for lunch and paid for me to have my hair cut) which was lovely, talked it ove with the DH last night and we are going to make a real big effortfor the next couple of years to get straight.
I am really lucky my mum is taking the girls on holiday fo a week, we can do without and shes always buying clothes for them and shes just brought them home with a big food parcel this week!!!

I'm hoping that if cccs cant help with halifax and they do apply interest, then when it gets passed to DCA in approx 7 months we will have saved enough for a settlement £5,000 in 8/9 months before it gets sorted ummm wonder if thats achievable.......... I'll have to see whats not bolted down to ebay!!!!!!

Again thankyou everybody it means a lot, there is human people out there, after talking to all these cc company call centres!!!!!!
    xx
