Hi everyone, I am having a realy bad week. To cut a long story short, we got in debt after i accidently fell pregnant went on maternity and had triplets. I gave up my job as childcare was just too expensive for 3 babies. We survived on credit cards etc and financially got in a right mess.
We currently owe around £38,000 and have been on a debt management plan since jan 07 with cccs. All is going great, we are budgeting and now the girls are 3 i work 14 hours a week while they are at nursery.
monday Nat west our biggest creditor told us they were going for a charging order.
Today halifax we owe £5,8000 kindly stopped interest for a year have decided they are going to apply interset and charges again for the next 7 months. In 7 months time my account will be in arrears so they will then defaut it and pass it to DCA. This all seems stupid to me, on rough calculations i will end up oweing £1200 more in sep 09 than I did in Jan 07. How do they ever expect me topay it back.
I have in the past occured lots of charges from this credit card account and wondered if you would advise trying to claim them back??? It seems really complicated or is that me making it complicated????!!!!!
It's like going one step forward 3 back i'm wondering what the point is anymore. Going bankrupt is not an option for me, i have too much pride and my home and children mean more to me than that. Although it seems an easy escape route at the moment.I am trying everything possible to sort this mess (theres plenty of ppl out there that don't).
Anybody got any advice pls???
Thanks mrs c x

First of all, I wouldn't call Bankruptcy an easy route - you may just offend many people that could give you very helpful advice.
Have you spoken to CCCS about the calls you have received from your creditors?0 -
Good on you for posting here even though you feel kicked in the teeth this week, you still know you must keep plugging away and despite the setbacks you clearly still wish to plough on :T :T This dfw road isn't the easy fun lark some people think it is, its just that the guys here all help each other out and can sympathise

So, number one, stick the kettle on. Number two, be thankful for your beautiful daughter, yes times might be hard right now but they will get better and your family is priceless
Number three, stick an soa on here for us all to pick over, I promise everyone will try and help you spot things that may help
Mortgage Total: £50,772/ £75,000
Mortgage Overpayments Pot £16800 -
I didnt mean to offend anyone so sorry if i did everybodys circumstances are different but to me it would be an easy route out of this stress and upset.
I have spoken to cccs they said they would send a letter explaining my circumstances havnt changed but don't think it will do any good.
I will post my soa later (taking my kids to my mums in a bit for the night) hopefully you will be able to spot something xProud to be dealing with my debts through cccs

Hi there just a line to say don't give up you have come to the right place.
Have only been here a short time (mostly lurking!) and have picked up lots of great ideas/advice of the guys here.
The hardest step is admitting to ourselves that we need help.Mortgage Owed: Sept 14 - £107398.200 -
Can't really help you but would just like to say keep your chin up. We were feeling really bad earlier this week & very nearly added another £32k to our mortgage to pay everything off. We're so glad we didn't as we know that we'll get through this together & have already started getting back on track. All The Best & Good luck.Debt at LBM(July 1st 07)-£35,053.92 Debt on 1st Anniversary of LBM(July 1st 08)-£33,170.11 (31st January 09)-£32,318.73Paid off so far £2,735.19(7.8%) Average paid off p.m. £143.95 L/H supporter 115 DFD target February 2018 DFD March 2028. thanks everybody, just feel deflated. The charging order is from Nat West, they are our biggest creditors we have an 18k loan with them. They havn't issued one yet just was threatened by a really awfull guy on the phone.
The laon was taken out to pay for treatment for one of our daughers in America, the nhs wouldn't help us out and so we had to take a laon. I don't fee guilty about it, it had to be done, she wouldn't be here today (touch wood in remission) otherwise.
The other debt approx (£20k) is credit cards, We both had a lot of time unpaid leave and survived on our credit cards. We are back on track now and trying really hard to pay it back, It's just a big kick in the teeth when we are trying our hardest xProud to be dealing with my debts through cccs

Compared to the serious stuff, it's only numbers....whenever I think about what we've not got, I think about what we have got and take so much for granted.....you know if someone said to you, here's all a lottery amount of money BUT this has to happen to of your loved ones....it puts it all in perspective, doesn't it.
I'm certainly no authority on CCJs but you definitely argue it was money well spent if it came to it at a hearing. For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -
