Dell - yes, DELL!!

I bought a new laptop at New Year - Inspiron 6400 at about £450
I spilt wine on it
and after the usual service call, it was returned to base.
I was advised by Dell that it needs a new MB at a cost of £210 due to "customer induced damage".
I denied the damage
I asked them to consider the fact that I've bought 3 PCs/laptops from Dell in the past 10 years at a total cost of £2k. I've never claimed under the warranty for any of them and I've never used their "service" centre.
Would Dell consider meeting me half - way on this claim?
Dell - can we call you back?
20 minutes later .... they've reviewed my case and - whilst the damage is "customer induced" - given my customer/service record .... they will replace the MB at no cost!!!!
To be honest, this is more than any of us could expect to recieve.
But .....my point is ... if you've been a loyal customer and not used "any brownie points" ... call them in when you need to!
Thanks Dell .... You really did go that extra mile :T :T :T
