£20 a day , and the rest ,dishonest = cash and stock as well
ask the police what to do.
CCTV a bit OTT and expensive how about marked notes with police involvementliving on the "edge"0 -
CCTV is ever so cheap now, get it installed even a dummy one over the cash register will be a good enough deterrent.0

We don't hold very much stock so that is not a problem.
I did have a problem with her using my time and machines to do work for her family and put a stop to that, so that isn't really an issue either.
A dummy cctv camera over the till is a very good idea if I can't afford the real thing.0 -
Id get a proper cctv so you can catch her in the act, id fire her in my opinion as it oculd happen again and again,No Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20

How about the staff meeting involving both your employees "We must all be more careful, we were £20 down on the till yesterday and the day before." Will alert her to the fact you're checking the till.
Personally I'd get rid of her after checking with an independent HR service about going about these things in the right way.Make £2025 in 2025

Hi babybeanie.I feel really sorry for you in this position at the moment. My husband and I had the same problem with a member of staff stealing from us.We found out that they had been charging our clients fees and had asked the clients to write cheques out to his name, not ours..We came across this problem quite quickly and got the police involved. This was over a year ago and we are still waiting for our money back, for them to be charged, anything really. The police have been nothing short of useless. We are on the phone with them all the time and they are still investigating even though we gave all the relevent info they requested.Just wanted to let you know that even though going to the police seems the right thing to do, it seems if you are concerned about getting you money back you will have a long wait. However you will be able to dismiss her without any problems.Good luck,it is a horrible position to be put in.Sarah-Lou loves a freebie, a bargain or a wine!:beer:0

When you see her you could start by saying there have been "discrepancies" in the till, can she explain it ? That shows you are checking - if he comes clean you can give her the sack - I wouldn't give her another chance- she's taking you for a fool . if she doesn't then the Police need to be called in or consider other options..0
