Cashback schemes for Ebay purchases?

I remember reading somewhere on MSE forums that it is possible to get cashback based on the value on ebay purchases by logging on via a cashback site.

It sounds complicated but as I now need to buy quite a few things it may well be worth the effort.

I've done a forums search but haven't been able to find it.

Does anyone know about this service and can offer any advice?

Thanks in advance.

It's easy. It's just like getting cashback with other online retailers. See here for details of different cashback sites:

Note that you will be getting back a percentage of the revenue ebay makes on the sale. So if the seller pays a pound in fees for the thing you buy, you'll get 40p. It's a nice bonus even for low value buys.

I've had this working fine for me at TopCashBack. You just have to make sure you clear your cookies before you go to the cashback site. Then click to eBay from the cashback site, make your bid/buy it now, pay for it, and you're done. Simple.

    Sounds great! Thanks.

Will it work for items I've already bid for and won, just need to pay for?
  • No, it'll only work for future purchases, as you'll need to go through the affiliate links from affiliate sites such as quidco.

Work out which cashback site gives you the best.
Reference this against which site you need to pay the most to.
    Then use that site.
Don't just look at how much you'll get off the bat.

Eg one site would give you £10 in cash back, but costs £10 per year.
Another site gives you £7.50 in cash back, but costs £5 per year.
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

I am completely new to this and followed the MSE link given by imagia above to 4 top sites and picked the one with no annual fee because I may not use it much and all 4 were 40-45% cashback for ebay. I'm with Topcashback.

I also see that I could have joined via a friend and that person would have benefitted so Imagia you could have had some points but you need to tell me!

What's the point about cookies? You say delete cookies. The site says switch off any blocking or you wont get the cash back....

Are you sure I can't pay for my existing ebay purchases from the Topcashback site and get points?

I haven't read through the whole site...too much info to take in!
  • pigsback do it too, u can get 35p per £1 of your winning bid, worth looking round to see if can get better deal.
must remember to do this myself, always forget, bit annoying after I just spent £100!
Who says I have to be normal? :p

You have to link throught the top cashback site when you make the original bid for the item according to the site.

    Quite sure!

What happens is that through your cashback site you will click the affiliate link to ebay. You then do all your regular ebay type stuff.

To ensure the best chance of the sale registering I would do the following:

    1. Log into ebay and put all the items you want in your watched items.

    2. Open cashback site and use the link to go to ebay, open your watched items, open the item and buy. You get paid on BUYING through ebay, not through PAYING with PAYPAL. Remember ebay and paypal are separate entities in this respect.

    3. Shortly after (different sites have different time scales) you should see the purchase "track" in your tracked items on your cashback site.
I've used shots of a quidco account to show you an example of the tracking.

(I only use quidco so I can't be precise with timescales for TCB)
