in Credit cards
Hi,new to the site but still in need of help.
Ive gone down the road of sending the template letters out, which ive had either offers to pay the difference or statements back off most so far.
I decided to accept the difference between the £12 off 3 credit card companies.
The letter i had was to sign to say this was the end of the matter and that id accepted this amount in full and final settlement of the matter.
The letter stated they would pay the amount direct to my account but didnt put anywhere to enter my bank account details,so i wrote my account number and sort code on the letters at the end of the letter.
Ive just recieved a letter back from RBS saying they have today(21/2/08) credited the amount in full and final payment to my account.
Ive just checked my account online today(22nd) and theres no signof it???
Im just wondering if they have credited my original credit card account or will they take the usual 3 or 4 days for the amount to show???
Any thoughts are greatly appreicated

I suspect you'll have to wait a few (working) days.
Payments are not instant unless you pay £30 for a CHAPS transfer which is usually reserved for buying houses due to the cost.0 -
Well still no sign of money,i suspect when they say we have paid into your account they mean the credit card account.
Not happy as that is no use to me as these are in a DMP with the CCCS
Where do i go from here????0 -

Where do i go from here????
Phone call back to them to enquire into the missing payment and to find out for definite if it's been paid and where to or if it's still in the pipeline."A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five." - Groucho Marx0 -
Well it appears as that the money has been credited back to my credit card account as there is still a balance on there that i am paying off through the CCCS DMP.
I was expecting that i might be recieving a cheque off them
to pay into my bank account but it appears not.
Where do i stand in getting my money back or is this how it goes???0 -
I think i may have my answer:(

Any replies or advice would be gladly welcomed :j :j
You can but do be aware that is is likely that any monies reclaimed will be put towards any debt on the cc but of course this will reduce the debt you owe.0 -
You owe them money, yet you expect them to send you a cheque ? I think your expectations are very unrealistic.
They've done exactly what they said they'd do. The money has gone back into your account to ............reduce your debt. Why shouldn't they put the monies towards paying off your debt ?
Banks also have the right to take funds from positive accounts to clear debts on other accounts without pre-notification to the account holder.0 -
Yes well that was something i never realised as the accounts are on a DMP and i didnt know where they stood!!!0
