Apologies if this is in the wrong place but can anyone advise me how I can tell which country has issued a credit card?Ta

from just the numbers or from having the card in front of you?
Cards usually have brand markings on and state who has issued it, with address and telephone numbers.I beep for Robins - Beep Beep

that software has a list of bank identification numbers (the first 6 digits) but i think it's only US issuers, and i've no idea how up to date it is. Might be worth a bash though.
There was another searchable database online, but Mastercard took the hump and made them take it down. There might be others though.They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
The first 6 numbers on the card is the Bank Identification Number. Whether this is country specific as well as issuer specific, I don't know.Dave. :wave:0
