in Credit cards
hi
i have a very good credit card habit and have been using them just to keep an eye on myspending on such like shopping for groceries and petrol etc
i always pay off the balance over the net and have never been in arrears
now i am about to spend say 15-20 000 pounds on a kitchen to go into an extension that i have just spent all my savings (except a small rainy day balance!)
and also i will need to spend approx 5-7000 pounds on a driveway and say 6000 pounds on double glazing (see my other posts!)
is there any credit cards out there that can give me extended 0% interest over say a year
i hope to pay off all the balance next year when i draw some dividends that will be due to me
any advice guys
your help will be appreciated!
thanks

Any existing credit cards with balances/credit limits or you starting with a clean slate?
Where building work is concerned you need a decent contingency budget unless you're certain your contactors will deliver in budget, but ignoring that, you need say 33,000 in credit and you want it at 0% + any fees?
With a good credit rating and good income figures you should be able to get that comfortably on 0% cards. Check the stoozing boards and separate stoozing site for details on how to make money from credit cards, but for argument sake from personal experience you'd get your 30K if you applied for Virgin Money, Halifax One, Natwest cards. There will undoubtedly be a better mix but these are ones that worked for me.
Instead of going for 0% over 2 years (never going to happen), lot easier to go for a 12 month 0% that they either extend (by phoning and telling them you'll be going elsewhere and cancelling your card if they don't offer you an extension) or that you transfer to another 0% card."A child of five could understand this.
