credit card charges

We have a credit card and every month we are charged for a payment break which we do not know what it is for as we have never used it. Can we claim this back as it has been charged for a few years and how do we go about it. I would like to know if anyone else has seen this on their statement.

Never heard of it myself. Best bet would be to call their customer services and query the charge. You'd need to get a copy of your T&C's as part of any reclaim procedure to know where you stand - so ask them to send you a copy and ask them to tell you where it allows them to charge for this.

Payment break plan is similar to insurance cover, it freeze your account if you or partner are made redundant or lose 25% of income, also covers maternity leave or sickness.

Some card companies are dodgy and stick it on the account without asking the customer, but you may have been asked when you took out the card. Chances are you wont get the money back simply because its taken you so long to notice youve been charged it.

Its always worth calling and asking but perhaps its a worthwhile lesson that you should keep a closer eye on your finances.
