Dell

I have gone through hell today with Dell's technical support teams. Collectively, i have spent five and a half hours trying to get a laptop fixed with the final suggestion that they will send an engineer out. (I told them to do that at the beginning!)

After numerous diagnostic checks, they charged me £35.00:eek: for advice (i have a 5 year warranty which i was advised only covers parts not for advice!)

One person got it working and passed me to another department to fix another problem, she asked me to click some buttons and all of a sudden it wouldn't even boot up!

I spoke to a total of 5 different people, and they even had the cheek to ask me to get a screwdriver and open some slots (they didn't answer when i asked what the point of a 5 year warranty was if i had to do their job!)

It was the Indian call centre, there were no problems with me understanding them but it was the fact that they wouldn't answer any of my questions if they didn't fit the script was infuriating. They were polite and friendly but not very useful unfortunately.

In the end they said they would refund the £35.00 charge and bring an engineer out.
I've been looking for a complaints address for dell but can't find anything on their website. anyone know of one? email or post.

thankyou

hopefully my hell with dell will be solved SOON!

  • I had a full Dell business support package. My last laptop went wrong 8 times in 3 years !!!

Every time it was repaired within 24 hours of calling, with an engineer coming to work / home as asked.

When it went wrong for the last time just before the warranty expired Dell gave me a new machine for free due to the hassle :)

to be honest their sales care was excellent but today i was quite frankly appalled.

I wish they treated their 'home' customers as well as their business ones.
