Flat Roof Felt Replacement

The felt on the flat roof over the kitchen extension needs replacing and I have been quoted £1200. The roof is 1.8 x 3 metres. Is this a fair price?

    Anybody ??
  • Depends what they are doing. But for a small single garage to replace 3 layer felt rood, boarding and insulation would be around £2540.

Get a couple of quotes to make sure.

That sounds expensive. I would think below £1,000 would be nearer. Are you sure they are not renewing some timber that might be rotten?.
  • Hi

Are you London based by any chance,as I had a nightmare getting quotes for my flat roof, the quotes went from £900 to £1300,then I found an excellent local company who did it for £350,they said I only needed the flashing repaired, whilst the others said I needed a new roof.
Let me know if you are East London & I will send you the details.

No sorry Im in Yorkshire. The best way to do a flat roof would be to Fibreglass it. You or a friend could do a lot of the preparation work yourself by stripping the rotten wood, I assume its rotten in places, re timber it and telephone a Fibreglass company up who will cover it for you. Ive done a few and Roofing is not my specialist tread,. If you need any further advice just ask.
