I have on its way a Dell 9300 laptop.
Could anyone recommend a good all round printer, scanner, copier, fax suitable for home photo printing and documents - not heavy usage.
I am told for Windows XP Home it needs to be "plug + play"??
Wanted a model where replacement cartridges not to expensive.
Thanks.

Plug and play doesn't matter as any printer will come with driver disks.
Hard call as there are a lot of printers out there. I prefer Epson myself as they are easy to get cheap patten ink cartriges for.
Your best bet would be to search on Google for an online review of multi function printers as I'd assume most people here will be recomending the printers they use.Welcome, rogerramjet.

For colour printing avoid the Epson C84, the latest software will not let the printer use cheap inks. If doing lots of black and white only get a cheap laser, I use Brother HL2030 much cheaper to run than an inkjet.Viking latest magazine shows HL2040 at under £50.00plus vat.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

After having owned and used several different Epson printers,i was recommended the Canon IP4000. It is a great printer being bother quiter and faster than the Epsons it replaced. I don't think i will go 'back' to Epson after the Canon.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0
