Balance Transfer Wont Work

I have tried credit transfering my existing balance on my NatWest business account credit card to my new Barclay Card, but Barclay Card say they cant transfer this balance for they dont reconizse the NatWest Card. Can anyone please advise me on how I can transfer the balance from NatWest.

I used to work for BC cust services some years back.

Lord only knows why it wont take payment straight to your natwest card....but there is an easy enough work around, even tho it involves a little bit more from yourselves. I'm surprised however that the person at BC you spoke to didnt even suggest it.

Call up BC, tell them you wish to do a balance transfer into your bank account as you have some third party debts to clear up. They can then take your account number and sort code and transfer the funds straight into your bank account which usually would take about 3 or 4 working days. Then once that money is in your bank, pay off natwest manually.

Although unlikely, if the person at BC asks why wish to pay it into bank account, just say either the truth, or that its to pay off an old car loan, 3rd party debts etc that are unable to take a direct payment. The only reason, is if for example, if someone says they want to transfer into a bank account so they can by a new car or holiday, then the rep is meant to decline the transfer, but theres no reason that should not work and be fine.

I was under the impression that only a select few cards allow BT's to bank accounts MBNA(virgin,A&L,Abbey)Mint and Egg.
Was the BT turned down because it was a business account?Some cards have restrictions on them to stop the employees doing transfers so they don't personally get the card benefits.Might this be the case with your card?

I'm not sure about other credit card companies, but from working at Barclaycard years back I know for certain that they can BT straight into a bank account.

I also know from my own use in the past that MBNA (alliance and leicester and virgin card I had), and Egg credit cards, have let me transfer to a bank account when resorting my finances, as I prefer to have it paid as one lump sum, then pay off my own debts how I wish to, aswell as any ahem...holiday spending money...that they dont know about

It could very well be because it was a business card trying to be paid off. I presume the BC card you're using is one of your own personal ones though...in which case, there should be no problem
