Citibank - what a joke!!

We applied online for a low interest cc to Citibank with a balance transfer. Their home page advertised "why wait, get a decision immediately". The immediate reply was... we will contact you within 7 days!
12 days later - an email arrived asking us to phone for a decision, which we did. We were told that a decision hadn't been made and to call back in a couple of days - which we did several times. We also tried to cancel the card so that we could apply somewhere else, but were told that as it was being processed we couldn't do that.
3 weeks later - after numerous phone calls we were told that the card had been agreed and that we had a huge credit limit.... however they had not transferred the whole amount and when asked why we were told that it wasn't showing on the screen and so they couldn't tell us.
We again tried to cancel it because the whole point of opening it was to transfer the balance from another higher interest cc, but were told again that it wasn't possible.
What a joke this company is - they don't even have email facilities at the customer service centre (in India) and although they advertise 24/7 banking, you can only get through to this call centre who can't give you any information.

I have a 0% deal going at the moment and as I recall I could not transfer the full amount either. So ended up with 2 cards running for 6 months which was a real nuicance. They are history in a 2 months time anyway...NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0
