  • I love Aldi too!

    There strawberries are yummy!

The Brioche is superb but i have been known to eat the whole lot in one go!

    Cheese and ham yum,

Try there luxury ice cream, black tub, strawberry and toffee ones mmmm imo better than haagen daz.

Beers not bad either, infact lidl were doing 20 bottles of stella for £7.95 today!! my bargain for today! Aldi i think do it for £9

they do lots of chinese ingredients so i can do a homemade takeaway cheaply

Frozen food is good too, salmon, duck mmmmmmm

I buy the paella and add prawns, chicken etc to it, yumm

Even the shower gels, toothpaste (whitening good), baby wipes all very reasonable.

Cleaning products too. They used to do an ironing spray for shirt collers that was fab but havnt seen it for ages.

So my shop is usually a mixture of Aldi, Lidl and Asda smartprice. Very handy as they are all near each other on the retail park near to my house.

ive never tried it with my cat, as she is a bit wierd, and only likes dry food. I intend to try some of their dry stuff with her next time I go shopping.
Our cat has been thriving on Aldi dry cat food for some time now. She seems to prefer it to the Lidl's.Its 99p kg so good value.

Try their cappuccinos - 10 sachets in a pack + choccy sprinkle - yummy.
Most of the biscuits are fabulous. I use their non-bio washing tablets £2.99 for 48. Lots of European ham, salami and stuff all delicious.
The best thing about Aldi (+ Lidl) is their weekly specials. I've had a 14" Nicam TV for £99 (about 3 years ago), a brilliant PC £749 recently, a 6.3Mp Digital Camera package £189 fabulous, a portable DVD player £139 (year ago), DVD player....tons of stuff - most of the electrical goods come with a 3 YEAR WARRANTY - you bring stuff back and they refund you if there's no replacement.
The value for money is outstanding and is a reminder about how we in Britain are ripped-off constantly by the "big name" outlets.

My cat also likes their cat food, been feeding him the pouches and he lapped them up, now he's tried the dried version and he loved it too. And he can be pretty picky.
I was a bit sniffy about the lack of recognisable brand names too at the start, but they won me over.
Do most of my shopping there now.
    Definitely recommend them.

I use Aldi's as well as many other cheap and not so cheap shops. Many of their products are simply European known brands. I do not buy their meat unless it has a reared in UK sticker nor their milk as we only drink British milk. Some of the fresh fruit and veg may not last too long also check the country of origin - if it bothers you about extra transport costs or not buying British. Their friut jucies are really good ans my brother reckons the Parmesan Cheese is the best around.

Staroslav is an excellent Budvar-like Czech beer at only 79p per 500ml bottle and the previously mentioned 99p/kg Vitacat Balance catfood is at least as good as Hill's Science Diet, if not better if you believe our cat, and comes in a Senior version with hairball control and the rest.

Don't get me started on the specials, hate to think how much I've spent on "bargains".

As someone else inferred and if I was being snobby, Aldi is further up the foodchain than Lidl. In fact in Norwich, the bottom feeders use Aldi's car park to visit the Happy Shopper across the road where they must feel more at home.

I challenge anyonoe to get the wafer thin ham and compare it with the BIGGER shops , and IT doesnt have added water too.

aldi and lidl arent small , but checkout price wise they are.

We've got a Nettos very near us and they are very similar to Aldi and Lidl (which we also have not to far away).

The selection isn't as good as the major supermarkets, but the quality is and the prices are better.

A lot of the cleaning stuff is familiar brands, but the processed foods such as jams and sauces are continental makes. We have never had a problem.

It is also located in one of the 'better' areas of town and is always busy so it must be doing something right.

Aldi baked beans are the best! Also their stone baked Pizza for 99p. we think the pizza is every bit as good as Pizza Express.
