business A/C bad practice

My partner has been in business for many years and has never come across such bad practice as this recent experience with her local branch of NAT WEST, which she transferred to recently. Because she went over her modest overdraught limit they stopped paying out her direct debits without any notification which caused a loss of business as well as embarrasment. When it came to her notice that bills had not been paid, she tried in vain to speak to her bank manager for four days leaving messages on his phone with a recorded promise to make contact within 4 hours. Eventually after contact was made and he apologised he stated that he would not extend the overdraught and she would be charged 29% for the amount over the limit, and almost forcing her to take out a loan which she does not want to do. Surely most business's have cash flow problems occasionally. What is the solution for a quick borrow of cash.

I hardly think it is fair to say that Nat West has bad business practice. Surely the bad business practice is that of your partner for failing to ensure there were sufficient funds in her account.
It is not Nat West's problem or responsbility if the account is overdrawn nor if a firm has cashflow problems. Is it not obvious to anyone that if there is no money in the account then DDs will not go out.
The failure of the manager not to respond in the time stated is cause for complaint though.0
