Plastering a Cavity Wall

Hi,

I've installed some french doors at the back of my house, and they're currently attached to brackets in the actual cavity of our foam-insulated cavity wall. However, I've decided to reposition them and fix them to the outer leaf of bricks so that the doors can open fully.

But by doing this, the cavity will be exposed on the inside of the house. How can this be neatly covered over? Can the foam insulation be plastered directly onto? Should I use plasterboard? I'd rather not use soffit board 'cos it looks ugly. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

We did the same. I filled the gap with foam, waited a couple of days, cut the excess foam off and stuck plasterboard directly onto the foam. Then made good with filler.
You could plaster directly onto the foam but my plastering is not that good.
