Completly agree Jaymac, I have seen so many people not organising insurance when the book a holiday then something happens and they have to cancel and have no insurance in place as they were going to do nearer the time! Big risk to take

As others have said, she needs to arrange her travel insurance ASAP. This insurance includes cancellation cover: any number of unexpected things might happen tomorrow to force her to cancel, and unless she has cancellation cover she stands to lose a fortune is such a thing happens.

She should also contact the court and let them know about her holiday dates.

Another point: when she arranges her insurance she should also let them know about her pending court case, and the comment of her solicitor about the date of the hearing. At the moment she genuinely doesn't know when the case will be heard, but has good reason to believe that there is only a low risk that it will clash with her holiday. It is possible that her prefered insurance company would cover her for that risk. On the downside, even if things work out well but she later needs to make a claim for something different, if the insurers found out about the court case and that she had not told them about it, they might use it as an excuse to avoid paying out.
  • thanks again for all your advice.
She has now purchased her insurance. She goes to court next week and the solicter says that it will more than likley ajourned and the 2nd hearing would be 14 days later. Her holiday is at the end of April so they are hoping will all be done and dusted by then anyway.
