In Scotland there's a Warm Deal but I'm not sure if double glazing is covered. England and Wales have their own version of this. It's worth a phone call to find out about whether they do replace windows. Even if they don't I'm sure your Dad will be able to get some help with keeping warm.

    Hi julies59

Try contacting your local Age Concern and ask them for some contact information for the local council etc. I have just done this for my mum and some nice people have been round to talk us through the options that are available. If your dad is on pension credit, that will probably open the door to some free services.

    Good luck

  • hello julies59...there are schemes called warm front & coldbusters that are run to assist with bringing all properties up to date ie; draughtproofing, sealed windows, cavity & roof insulation & boiler replacement in some cases where the boiler is over 20yrs old. Your council will be able to pass on contact no's for your most local company. Company then visits client to assess your needs & will be able to tell you what they can help with. good luck
