Just wondering if anyone has eaten at this restraunt in wind street. Me & Hubby are staying in Swansea on saturday night and thought about this place. Or can any foodies out there come up with anywhere else. We usually eat in Morgans but fancy a change.

  • I've not eaten at La Tasca in Swansea but I've been many times to the one in Cardiff. It is a tapas bar, great food and drink and atmosphere, typically Spanish.

Also, you can now convert your Tesco Clubcard points into vouchers to spend at La Tasca, £2.50 vouchers gives you £10 to spend in the restaurant, yum yum.
  • It is my fav restaurant in Swansea!

The food is soooo yummy and service is good too.

It can be busy Sat nights so you may want to book in advance unless you're happy to wait for a table.

    Enjoy!

I have already booked, really looking forward to it now.
    Thanks for your replies.
  • eaten there is not to bad indeed and the peallas are delicious.
  • I have eaten there and consider it to be a rip off, no comparison to the tapas bars in Spain, don't waste your money.

Could you recomened another restraunt in Swansea, close to the morgans (walking distance). We did go to la tasca & thought it was nice, especially as we used clubcard vouchers.
  • If you like Chinese then Rendezvous, on Princess Way (I think! It's on road parallel to Wind St) is nice, but even nicer is the Wild Swan but that is on Orchard Street which is bout 10 min walk from Morgans (nearby where the subway under roundabout on Kingsway used to be!).

The Brasserie on Wind St is meant to be lovely but I've never been and I know it's not cheap!

If you were wanting to go further afield there is an amazing Italian restaurant called Vesuvious in Morfa (by Liberty Stadium) which is bout 10 min car/taxi/bus ride away.

I concurr - nicest cantonese in Swansea, and the owner, Ray, is a lovely guy. Shame about the location though (next to the Probation Office :D).

If you go to the Brasserie btw, be sure to hang on to your empty bottles of wine (if you're drinking wine) because afew people have told me that they have a habit there of charging for more bottles than you've had - so they now hang on to the empties as "evidence". ;)

PS: Not forgetting Rossi's chip shop by Pizzeria Vesuvio Flutterby!!! :D

I have to drive home past Rossi's everyday and the smell is just mmmmmm but as I'm on Slimming World I have to resist!

I love the Wild Swan. I even order my takeaway from there and drive all way from Bishopston to pick it up cos it's the nicest in Swansea!

Well it's been known for us to nip downstairs for a takeaway at lunchtime!! I'm not a big fan of spare ribs (unlike the majority of my friends) but the WS do the most beautiful spicy coated spare ribs - mmm mmmm mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I'm going there for a meal on Friday night so I think some of those might be in order.

And most handy of all is that whenever I have to direct someone to the Probation Office who has never been there before (which happens at least afew times a week), everyone, but everyone knows "the restaurant with the water running down in the windows", so I can tell them that the Probation Office is next door!!!! :D
