Really poor settlement offer!

I asked RBS card to give me details of all my charges etc and they added up to about £350 :-)

However, they've offered me a rubbish (no fault on their part, we're all still friends) settlement of £65! Apparently this is the difference between the £12 'fair charge' and the previous higher charges :-(

The card balance is about £450. Can I make a claim for the whole £360?!

  • Short answer, yes you can reclaim the whole amount.

Pen another letter. Plenty of templates available. Look under 'reclaiming bank charges' and adjust the wording to suit. Also send a breakdown of charges and dates and remember you are able to claim 8% on each charge. There is a spreadsheet which works this out for you. PM me if you would like me to send you a copy.

It may take a little longer but the result will be a whole lot better that £65.00.

    Good Luck
