O2 Broadband Customer Support

Wow,

If you want a UK Based Support centre and great value broadband, go with O2!

I knew right from the start that when I signed up to the 8mb package, that I wouldn’t get it, they managed to push 5mb down but it kept disconnecting.

After reviewing the router logs I could clearly see that the line couldn’t handle it, so I decided to give them a ring to reduce my speed slightly.

Phoned the 0800!! Number and got to speak to someone after 25 seconds!

I told the guy what I wanted done, and they actually knew what to do!

None of this, "is your pc on, is your router on, have you tried formatting your pc????%*& crap"

So, ***** (5) Stars for O2, they seem to have gotten complete broadband right!

Just to add to their good service,

they have just announced that o2 PAYG customers can also get discount on their broadband (£5 a month) if they top up £10 every 3 months. which means a saving still of £5 every 3 months, well worth it!.

I have a 02 PAYG phone (as well as a contract with Tmobile) and didnt give the number for o2 at the time because it wasnt included.

I phoned them up and asked about it, and they said they would have no issues giving me the discount!

Another good point for o2 Broadband!

(also got through to their support in 1:30seconds)

For Once a big company has got it right.

Another plaudit for O2. phoned them last night, waited about 2mins this time, I wanted details on how to use my own router.

They asked what router it was, told them it was the Netgear DG834G, they gave me all the settings right away and was off and running in a total of 4mins!

    Fantastic!:A

Also a work of appreciation. I had some problems with setting up the wireless part of the package and the customer service was excellent - talking me through everything with good humour and sending me another router immediately when it was established that it was a hardware fault, rather than an 'idiot user' fault!

(contrasts markedly with my experience of Orange broadband who I switched from!)

I have been debating switching to orange but I have heard very mixed reviews. And a lot of them has been that the call centre is based in India? Perhaps it no longer is, but that was surely the one thing that did put me off.

I only started considering 02 yesterday, and reading this thread had just about confirmed that I should move to them.
