renault/aa free breakdown cover?

Hi everyone,

I'm very likely to be buying an 04-plate Renault Clio in the next month at some point.
I know the history - the owner is a relative who has owned it since new, all servicing on time..etc.

Now I mentioned my breakdown cover from Autoaid is "only £34" for the renewal...and she mentioned that Renault's all come with free breakdown cover.

It is confirmed here...free until it's 7 years old:

So long as you have the MOT done at a Renault garage (which is the same price anywhere), you get free AA breakdown cover... anyone got any experience of this?

I experienced company cars for a while a couple of years ago, and main dealer garages for Nissan, Ford, Peugeot, Nissan, and Vauxhall are all worse than useless. They'd order replacement parts and miss essential bits off from their own order (part, but no fittings for it..etc).. or in the case of Vauxhall tell me they'd replaced something when they hadn't.

I'm not sure about some of the small print.. they won't change a wheel for you if you get a puncture. That's gonna be a shame cause I've never done one myself.
After questioning this with said relative, she admitted she'd paid the extra £60. Lol.

I don't really understand what this means either...
"Local Tow. 10 miles to your closest Renault dealer"
Thats a local tow if you're at home? or does that mean if I break down on the m4 on my way home, I get taken to wherever the nearest Renault garage to wherever I've broken down?

Also the next MOT isn't due til July, so does anyone know if she can transfer the breakdown cover to me?

I'm tempted just to pay for Autoaid..at least I know what I'm getting, and I won't be forced to have it MOT'd at a Renault garage.
