Diy Travel - Hotel Comparision

Are they any good, i'm looking at taking the kids to blackpool and the cheapest hotel i have found on the Hotel Comparision website is with DIY Travel and they only want a £20 deposit.
Has anyone booked with them before ?, are they reliable, will they cancel on me a few weeks before ?, would hate to let the kids down.
are they any codes or cashback sites for DIY Travel ?

It's the Carousel Hotel in Blackpool, Hotelpronto does the same booking but is £40 dearer but then i can get 10% back through Quidco so may work out cheaper.
Thanks anyway5k in 2010 member #80 - £217.00/£5000 :eek:0 -
Have had a look at their site, they don't seem to be members of ABTA, not sure if they act as principal or agent. Would be inclined to think as they don't say they act as principal that they only act as the agent. Basically this means that if anything should happen then they don't accept liability. The principal V agent status goes back to the incident in Corfu in 2006 when children died.
Not sure of your dates but have had a quick look and found Octopustravel.com cheaper on the same dates than DIY Travel. Don't know if you have checked them but worth a look, 9% cashback with Quidco:j Debt free since 31/01/08:j

There is also 10% Off code floating around for Hotel Opia (if they do it) +then the Quidco cash back I think is still 10% ..This would make it cheaperIf you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0

15 % off Hotelopia with a code
http://www.vouchercodes.com/voucherpages/hotelopia.htm
and if you log on via quidco for 10% cashback
gives effectively 23% discount which is pretty hard to beat for many hotels0 -
Hi
Try Reserveahotelonline.com, they now have Principal status, plus they have an ATOL licence, although this does not apply to accommodation any.
They have a good selection of hotels in Blackpool.
I find with all these cash back / discount codes, that the prices are higher, so that they can then offer a discount in some form or other, avoid gimics.0
