Selling houses on eBay

Hi all
Looking on eBay, it seems that they charge a flat fee of £35 to advertise your house and there are no final value fees.
Is this right? Anybody tried it and had success (or not)?

It is very cheap advertising. I had more hits in 10 days than my estate agent got in 2 months.0

But hits aren't necessarily leads. Did you get any viewers? Any offers?
Like you say, it is cheap advertising and £5k is better in my pocket but then, so is £35.

My ad pointed folks to my EA so not sure if it led to any leads, but did get loads of viewings and offers from a very wide area.
It eventually sold to a guy in the same road who lived 100 yards away!0 -
That can be so annoying.
When I have sold before, it has always been to someone who lived closeby. Usually within days of advertising so the EA gets a big fat fee for very little effort.

as a buyer the eastate agents i put in my offer with worked bloody hard for the vendors paid commision - my case was one of the easier ones - to make sure everything was going well.... ebay may be cheap but cant go the extra mile. why would you sell your house on ebay??? ipod maybe, house no!!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0

It might be cheaper to place the ad in my car and park it near the EA's office.

I enjoyed designing my own ad. Have a look at this one:

P.S. Some of the contents were sold on eBay.0 -
Can't you simply add a clause to the contract at the start which says if the estate agent finds a buyer they get the commission, if you find a buyer, they don't get any commission?0

I LOVE this idea GG... I reckon it could lead to a revolution and that this should be included in Martin's newsletter!“A journey is best measured in friends, not in miles.”

Just make sure the buyer doesn't want to pay by paypal!
PS just looked at that ebay listing - is it just me that thinks that house looks like a cardboard theatre set? But for $113 i might buy it anyway!0
