does anybody have any ideas on how to get hold of discontinued b&q paints? we need to do some touching up and the colour has been discontinued - have tried ringing stores, and staff were no help at all! just wondering really whether or not the remainder of the stock goes to a discounted place? probablynot but it's worth a shot - or i will have to repaint!

Sorry, never heard of stock discount place.
I had the same problem a while back, we moved house and wanted to use the same 'mellow sage' colour and weren't able to find anything close.
Now when I paint a room I put a bit of paint in a jar for later touch ups.
Also, I paint a piece of paper to take with me when I go shopping for curtains etc. You could also use the painted paper to get B&Q to use their colour match service, a bit late now I know.0 -
B&Q paint is made by Kalon, Now merged with Sigma to form the worlds 5th largest paint co. (sorry, just a bit of background there,LOL).
If you can get a peice of that paint off the wall, boards what ever it is on, or have an empty tin, you can get it made to match. Phone round some paint outlets - trade or idependent will be best, and ask if they have a colour analyser. Basically you put a tiny bit of the colour under the gadget and it will identify the exact colour for them to mix up.
It all takes about 5 seconds!
it also MIGHT be worth contacting kalon direct if you get absolutly stuck, telling them the situation, and ask them for the nearest stockist with a mixing machine and ask for the appropriate code. I did it about 3 years ago, it was a bit of a battle but I got there in the end, but that was before the coulor analysers were about so readily.

I know Homebase have a colour mixing system and I know there are other retailers who do the same. You either need to know the colour name or have a sample. I had a mix done dor a discontinued line and it came out very well.0

homebase and focus will have trouble matching a B&Q colour unless they have a very similar colour card to match or is a RAL colour, or a BS standard. This is why I suggested finding some one with a colour analyser
Homebase paint used to be kalon, but I think thier mixers are Dulux now. Open to correction on that point.
