If you tell us your location (roughly) and how much you are currently spending on your mortgage, we could give you some pointers.poppy100

This will probably sound unsympathetic, but......Hi
we can hardly move with out tripping over toys, or books or the potty
Then tidy up. A bigger house will just mean more space for more toys to trip overHi
every inch of storage space is full to bursting.
You need to carry out a spring clean. do you use everything in your storage. Its amazing how much people store / collect and never use.
I do understand that people can outgrow houses.
I'm fortunate that I managed to buy a house bogger than I need, but one that can last me my lifetime but I realise not all will have been able to do this.
Have you tried contacting the council for a council house.
You may not get very far if you own your own home, but you could sell and rent while wwaiting for a council house.
Otherwise, you may have to sit tight and wait hopefully for house prices to tumble.:wall:

Hi hon - I feel that same as you. We have a 3 bed home and have 2 young boys. We're planning a third but I'm worried about space.A new baby brings alot of extra stuff with it! Its a catch 22 because if I was working we'd be able to afford a bigger house, but to have another baby we have to stay put. We recently got abit disheartened with our home after lusting after bigger 4 bed places. However, we've decided to pull our socks up and give our home abit of tlc. We've ordered a new mattress and new carpet for the lounge, and will be buying new curtains/cushions etc - just giving the place abit of a spruce up. Before that though I'm going through it like a bulldozer and getting rid of ALL THE CRAP! Toys that hardly get used, clothes outgrown, dvds not watched - its all going on ebay of charity shop and we're having a big spring clean. Hopefully just doing this will free up some space and make us fall back in love with our home.MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

I have been in the same 3 bedroom semi for 20 years, and have had up to 5 kids living in it. I say it is a semi but there is only an alley, entry they call it here, between us and next door. It is miners cottage.
At the fullest point I had the smallest bedroom and had to climb over the bed to open the curtains.
However we are now down to 2 kids one of whom is tidy so it seems a lot bigger.
We have no garage but 3 sheds which is where everything gets dumped to make room in the house.
My previous house had a kitchen 20ft by 18ft. This one is 12 by 10.
You fill up whatever available space you have.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:
