I do find that Value is not as soft but I dont mind that.....we experimented with Value v Branded........roll for roll branded wins......but equal it out over a week, taking into account how much kids waste etc etc.....Value wins by a MASSIVE mile!!! I cant believe how much money I must have wasted on Branded loo roll for all those years!!0

I always buy 3 x packs of Tesco bumper ones (12 in each) and stick them under the bed. This lasts a month in a house of 4 adults (three men).
I won't buy anything more expensive till the lodgers move out, but even then, I will probably stick to the cheap stuff. Think maybe my mum bought it too, cos I am absolutely fine with it!Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

I found that the Sainsburys value loo roll was the softest of the lot . I buy a 12 pack (1.12) a week , 2 adults , 2 kids and 1 kid wastes loads (oven mitt kid!) and the 2 yr old has a thing for taking a roll in the bath if she can get her hands on it when my back is turned so we have a lot of wastage each week !Baby Thomas born 3 months early by emergency section on 21/1/09 weighing 1lb 15ozs .
Thomas came home after 3 months and 2 days in hospital weighing 5lb 15ozs
Thomas weighed 21lb 4ozs on his 1st birthday , a total weight gain of 18lbs 5ozs !

hi all,
are these any good??
seen asda do a pack of 12 smartprice ones for 1.12. i gave them a squeeze and as there wasnt much on the roll and seemed a lot smaller i didnt bother and stuck to the normal own brand.
only reason i ask is my neighbour has these, she has 3 kids i just cant see how you save. but she drives a nearly new car, and has just spent £3k getting her garden paved, and was a bit shocked that she buys this, as i wouldnt have thought she would 'have to' or maybe this is why i havent any money as i waste it on normal price loo roll.
Maybe she buys the cheapie brands because she needs to. Maybe she has so many "debts" shes paying off each month she hasn't much left for food.
Not everyone who has a nice new car has bought and paid for it. It might well be her car is on HP, the garden could be paid for by a credit card etc etc

personally, i dont buy cheap toilet paper because i think it is false economy. Also i dont like the feel of it lol.
I agree with misery, she probably has to buy the cheaper stuff because thts how she affords her seemingly nice lifestyle:cool:"More people would learn from their mistakes if they weren't so busy denying them." - Harold J. Smith:cool:0 -
I switched to Morrisons value a few weeks ago from their normal own brand. It isn't quite as soft and it's ony 2 ply rather than 3 but I'm still only using 2 rolls a week for me, OH and 2.5yo DD. Although that has actually been upped to 3 a week as DD is potty training
. I find it fine to use, it only gets flushed down the loo but the pennies stay in my purse. 0 -
I'm another value convert!! When DD2 was younger she would waste half a roll - another 'oven mitt kid' and try to flush it down the loo which used to end up blocked.
Value stuff just breaks up so we have no more blocked loos!
One pack of 12 lasts us 2 weeks so I think it works out a bit of a bargain.0 -
Now that we're "on a roll" :rotfl: (sorry), Makro have a good deal on luxury loo paper next week, 2 x 48 roll packs for £10. It's in today's makro mail. And I get 10% off because dd works there.:j 5 litres of fairy fabric softener for £2.97 too."There is a light that never goes out"0

hmm, i wonder that... they change their car EVERY 6-12 months, so no its not paid for i guess, and once put a car on their 'mortgage'. if this is why they 'have to' or not buy value, priorities are wrong perhaps.0
