Cost of having a Fuel Card (tax)
Hi,
Can anyone tell me how much tax it'll cost me if my company issue me with a fuel card? I pay basic rate tax at the minute (although likely to go to higher rate in 1-2yrs) and will use the car for about 15,000 business miles and 5,000 private miles a year. Not sure if it makes any difference but the company will be covering 14p / mile in fuel.
Thanks in advance!

Look on ComCar to work it out. Most likely somewhere round about £150/mth.0

HM Revenue & Customs also have a company car tax and fuel benefit calculator:

Do you have a company car? If you use a private car (e.g. receive a car allowance) you get taxed on the fuel actually purchased at your highest rate. You can then claim back via your tax return business mileage at (I think) 12p per mile.0
