help paint problem

help ??? can anybody tell me why after painting my walls, all nice i have just noticed the paint looks as if it's all cracked the only way i can describ it looks like a egg shell when it's been cracked ??? the walls have been painted many times before. the only thing i done is mix too paints together i mix'ed them really well.

  • Same thing happened to me many years ago. It was caused by painting Vinyl Matt on top of Vinyl Silk. I always try to use Vinyl Sheen now because it's a mix between the two and doesn't seem to cause problems with any other type of paint.

    I can't remember how we resolved the problem, but I suspect that we just had to repaint the whole room!

    E-mail the paint manufacturer. They are usually very helpful.

    That sounds like the matt didnt key to the vinyl silk. Maybe you sanded down the wall in order for it to key. to the previous paint.
