in Credit cards
Hi,
A few months ago I realised that I had spent too much on credit cards over the last few years, so I did a lot of balance transfers to low lifetime APR's and then cut the cards up so that I could not use them anymore.
I then deleted all of the information about the cards on the sites that I used to buy from a lot, Like Amazon and Play. I also deleted the card from my paypal account so I could not spend too much on Ebay.
However, I've now realised that I was stupid to delete the card from paypal as I cannot pay instantly with paypal now using my current account, as this facility needs to be backed by a credit card.
As all my cards are cut up I don't have all of the information that I need to register them with paypal (expiry date and security numbers), but I really want to use paypal for small purchases.
Does anyone know if it is possible to get one of the pre paid credit cards, and register it with paypal, so I can use instant payment from my current account?, I don't want to actually use the pre paid credit card to buy things with.
Thanks for reading,
Julie

If you phone customer services for one of your old cards that you cut up they will reissue you a card which you can then use as you wish with paypal.Note the card details and cut the card up or lock it away so you don't use it too often.Previously known as Bokken, registered at MSE in Nov 04,computer glich deleted my access but it is fun building up my stars from scratch,again.:D0

i use the virgin pre paid card
i put £200 pounds a month on it pay my phone bill online and everything else...
it works lovely with pay pal. just make sure there is money on there first when u register.....
as long as you dont spend more than £200 pounds a month it works out cheaper than all the others i find
e.g cash plus charge £5.95 a month or £1 a transaction
where as virgin is 2.75% so with a balance of £200 costs me £5.50 in fees if i use it all0 -
£7 a month for one transaction is horrendous!
The Talk Sport card is a one-off £10 fee for the card, then 70p to top up. No transaction fees. It's a maestro.
The Neteller card, by the looks of it, is free, has no transaction fees and costs 50p a topup. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
paypal doesn't need to be backed by a credit card I have my debit card set up on my paypal.0
