I want 2000L of soil improver.
Based on calculations from the Rolawn website for the area I want to improve I'll need about 2000 litres for which they want £160 delivered.
It's a bit of a luxury for my wifes flower borders, we are on clay and I can't make enough compost (4 heaps) to serve my veg area and her borders so we are going to buy it in.
I need heat treated or sterilised stuff because the manure we have access to carries too many weed and wildflower seeds and drove us mad with the extra weeding last time it went down.
I'm going to check the local garden centres for offers but am open to recommendations from MSE's for national suppliers cheaper than Rolawn.
Cheers

Hmmm... we got 100L bags for £4 each at B&Q, but you we need 20 bags which would cost £80 plus B&Q deliver for an extra charge, not sure how much but you can call them up and ask. It was for a compost style soil improver, as the manure was more expensive. It is very densely packed as well.0

Gods Own County

One of my local garden centres will do 2000L of a combined organic peat free compost/soil conditioner for £110 delivered having had a trip out this afternoon, may go with that it's a fair deal.
Unless Debt_Free_Chick has another offer ?0 -
I could have given you a couple of names in the South East.
When I got topsoil 18 months ago, I went direct to local suppliers. I didn't touch the "nationals" or the garden centres. I had some help though, as I knew someone "in the trade".
Try searching for
soil supplies
On YELL using your postcode .... you may then have to widen the search.

Try your local council...some of them make compost as part of their recycling initiatives, then sell it on at a reduced cost. Or they will have leaf litter dumps which you can perhaps access.Val.0
