hi,
hope someone can help. Interested in buying a new car (Suzuki Swift). Been along a local garage and they have one in stock unregistered. Now if I buy it this month will it be a 57 reg and conequently can I try and knock the price down a bit. Or basically will it not matter to the dealer whether I buy now or in March? Just trying to be 'armed' before I go along - I have a car to trade in if that matters. He did say he would knock some off the list price (some of the cost of metallic paint) as it was in stock
Is it in my interests to order one for March with an 08 reg?

one thing i will say is if you can help it dont trade in (part ex) as you have very little room for negotiating then.i am new to this investing business and value peoples experience/opinions as a learning tool - thank you0

Wait for the 08 Reg, it will help a bit when you sell it eventually.;)
By all means negotiate a deal and put a deposit on it to secure it now.0 -
i ordered my car back in november its arrived but i can only pick it up on march 1st as it a 08 plate
maybe order a special one??

I think it's quite simple, I'd normally say if you want a car right now, but it right now. However as it is so close to March you may as well wait as it will have some benefit on resale.
I guess the dealer wouldn't have a problem with the 08 reg provided you fix it now, then they'll book it for this month to tweek their poor Feb figures, ahhhhh:rotfl:
Also any car in stock is always more open to negotiation than one to order, just ensure you buy what you want not what they want to get rid of;)
Agree with the no px too, unless its a gas guzzler that you are going to have problems shifting or that you need to sell it urgently for the deposit.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
I think the answer is obvious, March is not that far away.
Go to Garage and negotiate a deal on an 08 basis. After you're done and dusted and you have the deal you are happy with pop the question
"Now that is the price/deal you will give me on an 08. If I wanted the car in stock on a '57 within a couple of days what extra bonus/discount can you offer me?"
If the new deal is worth more than £300 to you, consider it, if not forget it.0
